Falling for an Autumn Wedding

Without a doubt, Autumn is my favourite time of the year. Not only does it become cosy, a perfect excuse to get out your favourite woolies, but the trees become a beautiful golden colour and your start to feel the crunch under your feet as you walk. If you haven’t already, I’ll have you falling for an autumn wedding by the end of this blog.

I have to admit that I have a bit of a love for trees anyway, and when they are green, they are beautiful, but when the views become a see of beautiful yellows, reds and burnt orange colours, it honestly takes my breath away! There is nothing more homey and inviting than a candle lit room filled with warm amber light and natural autumnal scents, including maple, toffee apple and pumpkin. My love of autumn is probably how I founded part of my name “Maple Rose”.

Putting together mood boards is probably one of my favourite parts of the wedding planning journey. I get to take your ideas and visions, incorporate them with my designs and hopefully give you a representation of your dream wedding day! Below is one of my favourite slides from a recent Autumn Wedding design proposal that I created.

With an autumn wedding, you don’t have the pressure of wishing and hoping that the weather is going to be perfect. (Although I’m a huge fan of the Indian Summers we’ve been having in recent years). You can pre plan for the weather with gorgeous personal touches to warm up your guests including blankets for the evening, warm ciders for the reception and toasted marshmallows for an evening treat!

An autumn wedding doesn’t mean you have to fill your venue full of pumpkins (although I will never object!), but it does mean you can be a little more daring and creative with your wedding colour scheme and flower choices! Swap the blush pinks for the deep reds and exchange the abundance of green foliage for your dried leaves and pampas grass.
